I live in a Town made of Cookies!

The little town I live in, called Leiden (in the Netherlands) is so freakin' adorable and cute, it looks like it's made of cookies. When it snowed, it looked like sugar-powder-covered-cookies! If you can imagine "Diagon Alley" from Harry Potter, that's exactly it. OR if you can imagine Belle from Beauty and the Beast singing "little town~ it's a quiet village~ waking up~ to~ say~" and instead of bonjour, they say LEKKER (means yummy)! That's the kind of little cute town I live in.

I guess you could call this "my hood".

Isn't this beautiful? It's 2 minutes from my house!

The hallway of my apartment is *literally* Kermit Green! He's even hanging there to prove it! hehehe.

this is my flatmate's (as they say here) cat, Puss... he's 17 years old!

this is how crowded the Saturday Markets get! but it's a lot of fun, with vegies, fruits, cheeses, olives, fishes, more fishes, flowers, everything!

see? colorful fruits!

it says "Elisa erg lekker" which means "Elisa: so yummy" They know it!

Eating my first raw herring!! Yes, that's how you eat it! And that's the Leiden flag behind me :)

book maket! I love how it's displayed.

There was an art project in front of my house, and this is how it was lit up!

Do you see how the painter is on a BOAT on the canal? I think it took all day, but we were at IKEA buying some furniture, hehehe. But when I came home to this, I was blown away!

The painting and the reflection on the canal. No editing what-so-ever! I think I can even flip this photo up-side-down and it'll still look as good! Seriously, I wish you were here to see it!

From another angle~~

I think this might actually be in Amsterdam... but I like how the city Christmas Season illumination looked! Doesn't it look like I'm time traveling or warping into the light?

this is our City Hall... isn't it lovely? It's really pretty at night when the city hall is lit up. I went inside once to register as a student, and the interior was also ridiculously beautiful!

And then.... IT STARTED TO SNOW!!!!

this is my way to the supermarket. Can you believe I live in this picturesque world? Sometimes even *I* still can't....

This is the "burcht" a man-made hill in Leiden. You can overlook Leiden from here, and you can even see my apartment! hehe :P

Shhhh, I paparazzi-ed a kid playing in the snow!

Like I said, the beautiful view from the Burcht! This is the HooglandseKerk. (kerk means church) If I remember correctly, when they were building this church, they were trying to make the largest Cathedral in Holland, but I think another church in Amsterdam won! Nice try though, Leiden. It's still beautiful.

This is inside the Burcht. You can walk upstairs and around the wall... Lookin' pretty in the snow :)

Doesn't this dandy man make this such a cool framed shot? me likes :D

Snow snow snow snow SNOOOOW!!!

This is the entrance to the Burcht with the Leiden emblem in the middle (the two keys)

Snow-covered leaves.

Leiden, at night, illuminated.

Don't the trees look like fireworks going off at the same time? I could sit there all day staring, if it weren't FREEZING cold!!

I think this could be a Christmas Card... or am I giving myself too much credit? hehehe :P
